Solo Date Ideas

Whilst I am all for the idea of celebrating love with my partner or gal pals, I’m proposing an alternative Valentines Day - one which puts your needs at the heart of it! I asked our LMP team how their dream solo date would look and would love to hear yours. Whether it’s buying yourself a bunch of flowers or wandering around an art gallery, I hope this inspires you to book a romantic date with yourself.

Lottie

I would sit for hours in a cosy and chic independent book store with a hot chocolate, reading and browsing books. I love Rye Books because it’s dog-friendly so Lenny can be cosied up with me (does this still make it solo?).

I’d then head to a pasta spot that has a counter bar to sit at, somewhere like Bancone in Covent Garden , and order the cacio e pepe with a crisp glass of dry white wine.

Emily

Starting with an early morning coffee at home and doing my gua sha face routine whilst listening to an LMP playlist.

Then I would go for a long walk through Battersea Park and• head to a breath work class at Re:Mind and maybe even Donna Ryan for a facial.

Ending by cooking myself a gorgeous Ottolenghi style meal - anything Tahini is a yes - and eating HU dark chocolate!

Daisy

Mine would be rammed full of food! Starting with a walk to Victoria Park village to visit Ginger Pig butchers and all of the beautiful independent grocery shops. I could spend hours stocking up on beautiful fresh produce for a following Sunday cooking session. I would pop into The Hawke Pub  for lunch, they have a delicious changing menu but their burger and schnitzels are on another level!

Once I have walked around the park, a treatment at the lovely re:lax London in Hackney, but they have recently opened a new one near Borough Market.

To finish off on a complete high, I would go to my new fave neighbourhood restaurant Resto Sune for the heavenly beef tartare croque monsieur before heading home to get cozy in bed with a book.

Amina

My solo date would start off with a class of some sort of movement, perhaps a dynamic Pilates or Barre class at Hwyl Studio. Then head to a screening of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (I’m not sure if this exists but it should do - if you know you know).

Followed by a steaming bowl of Ramen from Monohon Ramen on Old street and a pint. They keep their pint glasses in the freezer for an ice ice cold Asahi. Bliss!

Rebekah

My perfect solo date would be going to a cute cafe for brunch. Nola in Peckham is one of my favourite spots to sit just me and my notebook to do some journaling.

Then I would love a mini spa session to soak in a jacuzzi and get a facial. I recently visited Aire for my birthday and loved it!

Scarlett

Taking a slow day to myself in Brighton. I always feel so refreshed if I’m near water so I’d go for a swim or even better get to the sea if I can!

Then food of course. I actually love going to a restaurant for lunch by myself, just people watching and soaking it up. I’d probably go to Bond Street for a little coffee on route to the beach before heading to Lazy Fin for a solo brunch.
