Get to know Amina
The gorgeous Amina joined the LMP team over 2 years ago and we are so lucky to have her! With a few new classes going live on the platform this month, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to do a little Q&A together.
What inspired you to train as a barre teacher?
I’ve always loved moving my body, I started off as a dancer but after not getting into dance school I quickly moved into the fitness space. I always thought I was going to pursue a career in Dance so was at a bit of a loss, this is when I discovered Barre, became obsessed and have never looked back
Describe your classes in three words?
Fiery, creative, energising 🌶🔥
What is your favourite exercise?
If you’ve done one of my classes then you’ll know I’m a big fan of working the lower body - in particular the glutes. I just filmed a lower body barre burn for the virtual studio.
Any activewear staples?
You can’t beat a good flare! My go to’s are the Adanola yoga pants.
Do you have a daily non negotiable or self care habit?
I try and move my body in some capacity, whether that be a walk around the park, an LMP class at home or getting myself into a studio. No screens before bed, I try and keep my laptop out of my bedroom and read before going to sleep. Also remembering to take my vitamins!
And for the important stuff - what is your favourite food?
I chop and change, so after I came back from Thailand it was Papaya Salad, then whilst I was in Austria I ate a lot of Schnitzel. I’m usually a pasta girlie through and through - I love eating out at Padella and Flour and Grape.
Is there something people frequently get wrong about you?
Not get wrong - but something people don’t know about is that a friend and I held “OMA” Supper Club at the spectacular Kingswood Arts in Sydenham in April. The event was a joint fundraiser with the World Food Programme. The proceeds were split between their weekly community kitchens and holding arts and crafts lessons for the local children with getting food aid into Palestine. We raised over £2500 and I encourage people to continue to donate!
Thank you Amina - we love you !
